Blonde & The Beach
I grew up on Higgins Beach before we were allowed to drive automobiles as it was the closest to ride our bikes to and we could get home quick enough to play baseball in the afternoon. Tough life at 14. It was fun to return but I like my beach empty- nothing a Summer downpour can't cure. So it was a perfect way to meet a new blonde as the storms clouds rolled in. One of the most fit 70 year olds I have seen- must be all the yoga. (& the good care of Dr. Mike!)
I had forgotten above Love at first sight- it's been a few years.
Thanks Josie for the reminder and that lust for ball rules-looking forward to our next date... BL

Dad's Day At The Track- Women in Leather at Speed...
My Dad was a BIG fan of the track- of course it was horses not cars. So when I showed up on Dad's Day at New Hampshire Motor Speedway to capture my first Legends Car Race for SJ and the 42 Car I was also treated to a day of motorcycle racing. (Legend cars are powered by motorcycle engines so they play together well) The extra bonus surprise of the day was watching motorcycle side car racing- which I had never seen. Not that I didn't before, but I have a whole new respect for Women in leather... Just wild to watch- I will find it again! BL

CANON Guy Plays with NIKON...
The most asked question I receive from F&F is "What camera do I buy?. My first answer is one that you'll use- which for most it's their phone camera because they have it with them 24/7. The good news is that smart phones have gotten smarter even if we have not. For those looking to move up the image quality chain the choices are endless as are the opinions on the subject. There is one standout this Summer and I am currently getting a chance to play with it. (Thanks MsV) Nikon is the first to deliver a DSLR that will auto- focus in HDVideo mode-in fact they have delivered 3 of them but only ONE has an articulating screen which is mission critical if you plan on using it daylight. So for just those features alone- the Nikon D5100 is the Summer 2011 winner in the under $1000 semi-pro camera department. It's also small and light for it's type so you might even take it with you after getting it. You'll see Nikon's guy- the new lead man of 2 1/2 Men pitching it, so no need to take just a CANON guys word for it... Happy Summer!

Just up the Road...
The Big White Hotel with all the history and the "scenic view" pull off gets most of attention as the "grand" hotel of NH mountains but there is another spot just up the road off the main drag that is equally impressive. I spent the past weekend getting to know The Mountain View Grand better, photographically speaking, since my first visit last fall. The MVG is a bit more intimate on the grand meter and certainly worthy of a few extra miles to visit if you need a destination location in the Live Free or Die State. BL

The Uber-Talented Team-Erik & Leah Lippmann
What a difference a year makes- even to the day. Das Boat, the Ultimate Winter JAX Wedding and now a renovation project that will make any of the crap on "Home DYI" TV look like a walk in the park. Well for those of you who know the talented E&L none of this is a surprise. I was just test driving new software on a fly-by yesterday and the images don't do the results justice. World Class... BL

Five for Five...
Well it is over for lift service skiing in the Live Free or Die State. I got lucky for the 5th year in a row to catch the last day at Wildcat this past Easter Sunday. Kinda have to since winter is why we live here. Great day with Dr. E & Gerry (who skis much too fast to be captured by the iPhone) Till next year... BL
